Total purchases of storage facilities exceed pre-crisis indicators.
According to the calculations of key indicators on the warehouse real estate market compiled by Knight Frank’s experts, it is clear that total acquisitions during 2012 in this segment set a new high since 2007. The overall amount of acquisitions across Russia reached 1.6m sq.m.
According to the research, Moscow region accounted for the bulk of deals in the warehouse segment – over 80%, or approximately 1.3m sq.m. Over the year, total purchases in Moscow region corresponded to one-fifth of the total amount of high-quality warehouse premises which were built over 9 years (since 2003).
Burgeoning purchases of high-quality warehouse premises in Moscow region in 2012 outstripped the analogous statistic for 2007, setting a record for the Moscow region’s warehouse market.
